A popular pop music group in the 1960's, Jay and the Americans withstood the British invasion by touring extensively and creating a decade's worth of hits on 15 albums. The song was originally recorded by the outstanding Ben E. King and The Drifters and scored #16 on the Billboard Hot 100 back in 1960.
