The Weekly Wacky Wednesday theme was birds, and Bob Marley's "Three Little Birds" was a natural choice. I really enjoyed Sara Niemietz's joyful and fluid rendition. In fact, I loved it. My friends kept asking me, "Is she going to sing and talk the whole song?" They don't know Sara very well and don't realize that the conversations between songs are concrete proof of her incredible ability to play with lyrics and melodies and, above all, reveal the brilliance of her bright personality. Regarding the song, I think the recurring refrain: "Don't worry about a thing, because everything's going to be alright" conveys an emotional state of optimism and confidence. Bob Marley portrays simple situations, like listening to birdsong, to show that happiness lies in the little things. The light intonation and optimism transform "Three Little Birds" into a symbol of hope and enthusiasm. Birds are also culture, art, beauty, and music. It was a beautiful choice for the Weekly Wacky Wednesday theme.
