Slightly more than a year after releasing his first record, Mr. Landrum has sought the widest possible variety in combining unusual arrangements, spirituals, and classic religious favorites in the twelve numbers presented here. His beautiful baritone voice is joined, in some numbers, by the lovely singing of his wife, Dixie, and the J.T. Adams Chorale, in music to thrill and inspire every heart.
Serving as Minister of Music in the First Baptist Church of Altus, Oklahoma, for the past three years, Mr. Landrum has become widely known for his solo ability. A graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University, where he was a member of the famed Bison Glee Club, and of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he sang with the Southwestern Singers, the Men’s Quartet, and the Baptist Hour Choir, Jim Landrum is in constant demand not only for churches, but also for clubs and conventions across the country.
To those who hear him sing, a genuine warmth is radiated through his sincerity. Combined with his unusual ability, this quality makes music by Jim Landrum some of the most listenable in all the land. Yet, it is only after constant and increasing requests from his own pastor and church members that this second album was recorded.
It is, therefore, being presented with the confident prayer that all who hear it will,be blessed.
Gene Garrison, Pastor
