Hello all,

It’s been a while since I last let my fingers wander across the strings, but the guitars have been calling me back from a brief sabbatical. This time, they’ve led me to revisit an old piece of mine — Hiraeth.

At its core, hiraeth boils down to an awareness of the presence of absence, kindling a feeling in which pain and joy are braided too tightly to untangle. This melody is my attempt to breathe life into that tension — to let notes carry the weight of longing and the lightness of memory all at once.

Just over a month ago, I was driving through the wide, open spaces of southern Namibia, joined by a group of people whose presence felt like gravity itself — warm, irresistible, and utterly alive. They had a way of pulling the fullest joy from every fleeting moment.

I miss them dearly.
