Description
"Gulamåra viten" refers to Jan Ersson, who lived between 1799 and 1846. As is referenced at the end of this recording, the name comes from his village of birth and that he is said to have always driven a white horse when on his way to a gig.
This recording and photographs are part of the material Jan Ling produced for his doctoral thesis Nyckelharpan - Studier i ett folkligt musikinstrument (The Nyckelharpa - Studies of a Folk Instrument) (1967).
Edited copy from the original tape. Interview edited out. Read more at Musikverket (https://musikverket.se/svensktvisarkiv/publikationer/onlinepublikationer/nyckelharpan/).
