Celebrate Rio’s Afro-Brazilian heritage in Pequena África. Centered around the districts of Gamboa, Saúde and Santo Cristo, the area tells its story through art, rhythm and community, with colorful street murals and heritage sites preserving its past.

Beyond its historical weight, Little Africa is a place of celebration and life. As the sun sets, the area transforms into a lively hub of Afro-Brazilian music and dance, with roda de samba circles bringing people together through its street performances.

From heritage tours to late-night samba, Little Africa invites you to experience Rio through the lens of its Black history.
