Hailing from Jersey City, New Jersey, Al became a leading session musician and a recording artist in his own right, when he began releasing albums in the late 50s. By 1960, he was with United Artists Records and scored with his version of “The Magnificent Seven”, which reached #35 on the Hot-100.

Dozens of albums followed including “Greasy Kid Stuff” in 1963, on which “Pipeline” and Surfin” USA” were tracks.
